Oh what a night!

Almost 100 guests enjoyed what turned out to be an exceptional night at the Black Tie Bikers Ball at the Pomme D'Or last night. Arranged to be the venue for the draw of the Triumph Bonneville raffle sponsored by the Mansell Collection, the evening was well supported by a number of the Island Bikers in full colours.

After an enjoyable meal, Greg Mansell presented the Charity with the keys for the Triumph Bonneville, following which the draw was made by Veteran James Sterling-Yeatman, a former guest of the Charity. Unfortunately the winner was not in the room, but there was a twist in the tale.

When the winner was notified by phone they explained that the ticket had only been bought to support the charity and asked that the bike be auctioned off at the Ball to the highest bidder with the monies going to the Charity.

The announcement caused much excitement in the room and after requesting an opening bid of £10, a fierce bidding battle commenced with the succesful bidder bidding £7,000 to take the keys home with them.

The combined success of the raffle, auction and ball will fund the Easter week of visitors on 2023. A fantastic night which will have a significant impact on those lucky enough to benefit from a visit to this beautiful Island.
